Favorite Chocolate Buttercream
Ingredients

1 c (226g)
unsalted butter, softened

3 1/2 c (420g)
powdered sugar
-
1/2 c (41g)
unsweetened or Dutch-process cocoa powder

3 T
heavy cream or milk, room temp
-
1/8 t
salt
-
2 t
vanilla extract
Instructions
Step 1
Beat butter on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes.
Step 2
Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, heavy cream, salt, and vanilla. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to high speed and beat for a full minute.
Step 3
Add more powdered sugar or cream to get desired consistency if necessary.
Additional Notes
Can optionally swap 1/2c (60g) of the powdered sugar for malt powder for a malted chocolate buttercream (so good)
