Mix all ingredients until well combined. Poke holes in meat and place in shallow covered dish or Ziploc bag and cover with marinade. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours minimum or overnight, turning every now and then. Pat meat dry before grilling/frying.
Additional Notes
I've forgotten the oil and it made no difference. The recipe says brown sugar or honey but I have never tried honey and probably won't due to the flavor profile (plus I think this is great as is). It also says you can sub red wine vinegar but I wouldn't, the balsamic is perfect.
